Today is Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year they say. 32% of the people already gave up their New Years resolutions last week and are back to their bad habits. The three-weeks-after-Christmas depression is hitting in and we feel a little lost this 15th of January. Hell NO! This may be called the most depressing day of the year, but please let’s don’t act like that. As much as I miss the coziness of the Christmas season and feel sad when looking outside to the rainy Amsterdam, I try to cheer myself up and still rock this day like any other. Positive vibes only! Let’s beat the Blue Monday..
With wonder I hear some of you thinking ‘How??’ Well, just do so. Look back at your New Years resolutions and see what you gave up on. Started smoking again? Think about your health, the health from people around you, the bad smell and the money you safe. Remember why you quitted? Yes. It might be hard but stop again for once and for all. Remember why you wanted to go to the gym? To live healthier and feel more comfortable in your body while Instagram is full of those perfectly irritating bodies. You want to feel comfortable and healthy as well and believe me, a good workout after a day working can feel such a relieve.
There are always reasons to feel less happy and stop your good resolutions, but there are even more reasons to be happy and continue your new good habits. Make your Blue Monday a Yellow Monday by starting again and bring that smile to work, school or everyone around you. The weather may suck, but maybe you already have your next trip plannend to look forward to. Plus, this weather is also a good reason to finish or start a good series, to cuddle with your dog or to finally clean your room and sell old stuff to earn something extra. I mean, there really is enough to do!
