One of the it-colors for this season must be Burgundy. This rich color is a real fall/winter favorite and especially this season it’s HOT! The best thing about burgundy is that it is super easy to mix and match with any other color you have in your wardrobe – or just go for a total burgundy look like I did today. But how to mix it without loosing the balance of your outfit? Here are my top tree tips!

1. GO FOR AT LEAST TWO AND MAX. FOUR DIFFERENT TONES

When you go for an all ton-sur-ton look it’s important to have at least two different tones (of course) and a maximum of four to keep the balance. Take this striped sweater from Comma for example, which has two different colors. Together with the vest, the knee boots and the bag –  who are in the same color – it totally keeps its balance.

2. ADD ONE ITEM THAT DIFFERENT IN COLOR

When you go for an outfit in the same color it’s important to add at least one item that’s different in color. In this look it is the black skirt for example, which gives that little edge it need. Make sure that the color is not too hard or too light for the rest of the outfit. If you go for burgundy, black is a perfect option. If your outfit is all white you should go for beige.

3. GO FOR DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND MATERIALS

At last, use different materials and textures in your look to make it more interesting. In this look you see a mix of leather in the bag and skirt, but also suede in the boots which is a perfect match with the woolen sweater. Still here is the same rule; find the balance and don’t over do it.
