Hi guys and happy Thursday! As you may have seen in my latest vlog, I was in Nuremberg with ParkPlaza last week. I was there for just a few days, but exactly what I needed after this extremely busy November month and December month, which is just one week running. To be honest, I felt a little lost these past weeks. I have been working non stop. Running from one event to another and sitting behind my laptop, preparing for the Holiday season. Yet, I barely had time to sleep, see my friends and talk to the people I care about most. As much as I enjoy going to events, I have to be a little more selective in what I do or not, because living like this is not only at the expense of myself, but also of the blog. And that’s the last thing I want.
So how get back on track and create inspired content again? Because that’s what today’s post is about. I started the idea of changing last week, when I realised things should be different. That was also the reason why I haven’t been posting daily these last few weeks. There wasn’t enough inspiration, yet there was so much to do and share. I wanted to do so many things that I totally lost my focus. Attending events, vlog, blog, shoot, setting up new campaigns, interact with you guys etcetera etcetera. To get back to my focus, I needed to realise the problem first and I can tell you, that is hard. It’s natural that you don’t want to look at yourself in the mirror, saying that things aren’t going as they should. Since two years now, I live on positive energy. I always have been this person who said ‘yes’ to everything, just because I am very enthousiast in what I do and want to help others were I can. But at some point, it’s breaking you down. Not that I have been there yet – thankfully not – but I have been close to it.
The thing that annoyed me the most, was that I didn’t know what to do anymore and where to start. I wanted to write so badly, but I just couldn’t tell anything informative or fun. So this is what they call a writersblock? Like I said, this was because I have been too busy lately with the result that I lost my focus. Having a few days off in another city really helped me to get back on track. To find my inspiration again and to create new ideas. When in Nuremberg, I even couldn’t sleep because I was so excited about the things I wanted to create and share again. It was exactly what I needed.
To make it more concrete on what you should do if you lost inspiration; I think it’s important to ask yourself the question ‘where is it going wrong?’ first. Try to answer it as honest as possible. Facing the truth can be hard, but it also helps you to improve yourself and find a solutions for what is going wrong. Being too busy? Plan a little escape to another place. It doesn’t have to cost you much, but you can feel so good and inspired after it. Are you doing too many things at the same time? Try to say ‘no’ and ask for help where necessary. I am this person who wants to do it all by herself, but it really is too much sometimes. Ask your friends or a family member to help. It’s not only good for your work, but can be a lot of fun as well. If you combine these all, you come to the point where you should relax more. Take a 30 minute break to have a walk around and get fresh air. Create small changes before a real breakdown and to be inspired again.

I hate getting writers block!! It’s the worst. Love your outfit. That shirt size so pretty!
Taking care of yourself is so important! You can’t produce quality work if you’re not feeling well. I started posting less frequently too because I was feeling too tired and overworked. You look gorgeous here! xx

I get lost sometimes and I lose my focus too. I don’t feel inspired all the time and it’s frustrating after so many years of blogging. But it happens once in a while, it’s normal.
Great post and tips! 😉
Great post! I always write down ideas as they come to me in my journal so that I don’t forget. It becomes helpful on those weeks when I am struggling to write a post. Also, I am always writing, even when I do not plan on posting it immediately. So far these have helped me a lot. Loving the pictures!
