The reason why I don’t have a new wishlist post for you today is because I actually planned this post yesterday, but is some way it disappeared from the internet. Internet and social media are fantastic ways to all stay and get connected with one and another, all around the world. But sometimes.. Besides being it very addictive, it is also frustrating. Never trust the internet they always say. Happily my computer and website are still alive, so after a good sleep I am ready to write the post all over again. With a changed subject, as I actually wanted to talk about something else now. Being online.
You might all have heard from the new term lately: FOMO; Fear Of Missing Out. With good WiFi connections almost everywhere (I mean train stations, shopping malls, restaurants), it is almost impossible to not look at your phone for a few hours. And if we don’t, we have to catch up a lot of information afterwards. Time to see in what photo you’re tagged on Facebook, what your friend has to tell you on What’sApp or to see the new instafeed of your favorite blogger.
I have to admit, I am addicted too. Not because I want to stay up to date with some people I know, but more about knowing what is going on as a fashion journalist/model/aka blogger. How to reach the 10K on Instagram before my 21st birthday this October? How to be involved by this special project or how to collab with your favorite brands? What are the new trends and which ones should I publish or not? Yes, it is getting, or already is, my addiction. But besides talking about how to feel and to recognize FOMO, it is better to ask yourself how to get rid of it.
Since a few weeks I try to sleep earlier, to not look at my Instagram for another hour or two before sleeping and to read a book instead. Well, after finishing my way too exciting book within a week, it was there again. I probably have to buy myself a real alarm and leave my phone downstairs. Also, planning is a key-word so I have to do everything in between working-hours, not at home. Because home is the place where I want to sit down, watch some Netflix, shop at some of my favorite shops (such as Dresslink lately) and play with my dog. How do you keep FOMO out of your door and enjoy life without your cellphone?
Hope you like my little story and that it might help you realizing what social media is doing with and for you. Also hope you’re liking this outfit while wearing this beautiful yellow lace dress from Dresslink, in combination with some royal blue sandals and matching jewelry by Accessorize..
I was wearing:

If you manage to keep away from Instagram before going to bed, please let me know your secret 🙂
Love your yellow dress, this is my favorite color lately <3
Oh goodness, I published a post last week that took 8 hours to write. It was a travel post about a trip I made 6 months ago, so it took awhile to recall some things, but also it was a long post filled with photos, so that explains the 8 hours I took. And then it disappeared. I was flipping the freak out, so I forced myself to step away from the computer and take a breather. The day after I rewrote the post, hopefully in a more concise manner. I guess what I’m saying is that I feel your pain! We both made it out in the end 🙂 Anyways, love your purse! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Your pics look great!
Fun & exotic outfit; the blue of your shoes really pop and the colorful little bag adds a tropical vibe, perfect for summer 🙂
no i didn’t know this!! giulia
All I got to say is baby got back! You look great here.
And that’s a great goal/achievement that you don’t look at instagram at night so much and read instead. To be honest, I sort of do the same. I literally post, flip through photos for about 15 minutes and then hop off.
I love your outfit, specially the dress
This is the first time I have heard the term Fomo. Then again I am way slow at this stuff. I had to Google what Yolo meant. (Not kidding, I thought it was a yogurt.) Great post! And that dress and the shoes are fabulous!!! 🙂
Love that bag, it’s so bright and fun.

I had heard of the term FOMO before.. and I also admit: I’m addicted too! What I do now is.. I try to schedule a daily dedicated hour to check everything. And then I stop worrying about it until the next day. It works.. most of the time! 🙂
Love this dress btw! And blue heels, they always look great! You look beautiful as always! 🙂
First of all, I’d like to say you look great 🙂 And second of all, I’m battling FOMO myself right now. I gave up on facebook a long time ago, but Instagram is my addiction and its impossible to keep up with all the people I follow so I’m trying to decide who is worth spending my time on and who isn’t.
It’s too easy to get lost in the web. I wish I could learn to feel okay about being without wifi again 🙂
You are darling! Love your style!
