Earlier last year you might have read the news that H&M has a mountain of unsold clothing worth 4 billion (!!) Euro. This news really gave me goosebumps for weeks and especially after my experience in Myanmar with Genaaid, I knew something really had to change. Happily the big fast fashion retailer is thinking the same. They are now hand in hand with the designer duo Hacked By_ to make a new collection out of their unsold sale products. Yay to that!

Hackey By_ is a Dutch design duo founded by Alexander van Slobbe en Francisco van Benthum. The collection will stand for the circulation of clothes and on how to give it a second life. Because after all the doom and gloom of making a piece of clothing, we have to treasure it and give it a true chance to live, right? It is not only the first time H&M will create such a collection made out of unused and unsold products, but also the first time they produce in The Netherlands. The collection will be made in Utrecht in the I-did atelier. Another good cause, as they educate people who have lived in income support forever.

When I hear you thinking? Well, this collection will be there faster then you think! The collection will release on the 14th of February and will be sold in the big flagship store in Amsterdam. Oh wait, hey, that’s on Valentine’s Day, how applicable.. Love the world!
