On a sunny day in Amsterdam, while attending a lovely Vogue Living lunch a few weeks ago, it was time to rock some yellow lace and the off-shoulder trend to steal the spotlights. Ever since I saw this top in the H&M magazine, I knew I had to have it. I mean, how gorgeous is this? A top which you can style in so many different ways. From a regular jeans to white twirl skirts for when it gets warmer. The possibilities are endless! But what this specific top – ok, together with my heels – did with my confidence was just beyond words. What I mean by this, is that it actually is so easy to grow your confidence by the way you dress!
Especially since I posted the ‘5 Things I Would Tell My Younger Self‘ video, I got so many comments from girls who are going through the same I did. Being bullied at school, not fitting in any group because you’re different, I know it all. And because I used to go through all of this sh*t (excuse my language but I guess this is just the best word right now), I also can be so proud of what I’ve become; a confident woman. Believe me, it’s not an easy way and I still have my insecurities, but I turned out to be so much more happy and positive from the point I accepted myself from who I am.
My style – love for fashion – definitely helped me through all of this. I mean, of course I do feel more confident when wearing this kind of outfit than when I am in my joggers all day watching movies with a bun on my head. We woman will always have this so there is nothing wrong with feeling confident when putting your fashion heart into an outfit. Don’t be afraid to try something out, be proud of how you look and believe me, when you start doing this you will only develop your style more and more. Actually it is a cycle that keeps on repeating. The better you feel with your personal style, the more your confidence will grow and the more experimenting you get. Wish you all a beautiful Thursday loves! Xo
