The first three months of 2017 are finished. Done. Finito. Quarter 2 just started, which means you have to take a moment to reflect quarter 1. All those good resolutions we all have in the beginning of the year, how far are we with them? Did I achieved what I wanted to achieve? Did I get that new job? Did I loose the weight I wanted to loose? Did I quit smoking? Have I visited my family more often? And so on and so on. It’s proven that most of us quit their New Year’s Resolutions already within the first week, to continue with the bad habits or regular routine. But why? I believe that if you want to change something, you should do it right away and stopping is not an option.
So since most of us already forgot their New Year’s Resolutions, here is a little reminder to look back. To see how life have changed for you and if you are already happier. When I look at my own resolutions, I am still working on it. Traveling every month: Did 2 trips in 3 months. Fair enough. Upgraded my income to amount €X and something with more zero’s: Earned it at least over 3 months total. Started being nicer to myself: Last week I went to bed at 8pm because I was sick. Does that count?
See, even I didn’t achieved my goals. Gosh, I wish. But let’s keep on reminding each other to make it into something. Here are three easy ways to keep motivating yourself with your goals. 1. Write it down. If you write things down and paste a note somewhere on the fridge for example, you keep seeing your goals. 2. Motivating yourself. So besides the fact that you see your notes everywhere, you should remind yourself of getting started and motivate why you started. You want this and you can do this. 3. Get started. If you do the first two steps than getting started is peanuts. Continue and remind yourself these three steps and you’ll come closer to achieving your 2017 resolutions up until the next quarter.
I never make New Year resolutions so I have no problem with staying on track. Lol. I just reevaluate my needs every so often and that’s about it. As I have gotten older I learned to stop putting so much pressure on myself and that has worked well for me, but I do agree it is a good idea to reevaluate where you are in life every so often.

Great tips, Floortje! I had planned on doing a similar post six months into the year, cause let’s be honest, sometimes is pretty hard to achieve some of those resolutions! 😛
It’s definitely good to do some reflection this time of the year and see how you’ve done and proceeding with your goals/resolutions! And loving your outfit too ♥︎ xx
Perfect bit of motivation to get down and focus on the resolutions ! Very chic outfit!
And have you ever been told that you look like Alicia Silverstone from Clueless !
Babe, you look beautiful in this black and camel combo, so sophisticated and chic; I love the structured design of the coat. Thanks for sharing these tips on getting back on track with our resolutions as well, this is the time when many of them start to die down, so using some inspo to keep pressing on is very much needed! I hope you have a great day!
I can’t even remember my goals, but I know that I’m so far away from them so it might be the time t reevaluate them and some up with a better plan. Mulberry bag is beautiful!
This was a perfect reminder! I never really think to reflect in April tbh, so I definitely needed the reminder. I didn’t really have set goals for this year apart from a few vague, ‘be healthier’ and ‘be nicer to yourself’ (which I think is a great one) but looking back, I’m happy with the year so far – I think it was the hardest bit too, so I’m very much looking forward to where I’m headed and excited for what’s to come!
Great tips too – I’ve now written a few mantras and motivational quotes to stick around the house to keep me going!!
