Let’s talk about one of my favorite subjects; jewellery. As you may know, I am a huge jewellery lover. Ever since I was young, I searched for hours and hours in my mom’s jewellery box to find gems to steal and wear. With that being said, I own a lot of pieces from her. I love to combine her jewellery with pieces I bought myself. For example, one of the things I wear everyday and never take off, are a gold heart bracelet from my mom and a gold bracelet with a big sparkle from Isabel Bernard which is mine. Jewellery tells a story and for me that is the most important part.
Another important part for me is the quality. I like to only wear real gold or silver items, nothing pleated. I want the color to remain the same, even when wearing it day after day. I know, real gold can be quite an investment, but you will treasure it forever. Maybe even give to a next generation like my mom did with me ;-).
Personal Jewellery Talk
As you may have guessed, I am more a gold jewellery girl. It makes my skin look warmer, which I like more. Never the less, I love mixing things up. I own a lot of rose and yellow gold, but I also combine it with white gold and silver. For example, my watch is steel with rose gold, which makes it easy to match with any other color. Another example; the rings I wear everyday are a solid rose gold ring and a white gold ring with brown diamonds. Also items with a story that makes it more special to wear.
With jewellery, I believe there are no rules nor limits. If you love something, then wear it. Mix up old with new, gold with silver, big and sparkly with solid and petite. Jewellery tells a story. Your story. The story of your loved ones and great memories. I will keep collecting till the end of days I guess. Opening my jewellery box gives me a smile everyday cause it brings me back to so many memories. Something that I never want to stop.
What about you? Are you also a big fan of collecting jewellery, or do you collect your memories in other special ways? Let me know in the comments!
