Hi lovers! How have you been this last month of the year? It’s crazy. We are already almost at the end of 2019. For 2020 I have set the goal to do more with my biggest passion, which is interior design. In my spare time, you can always find me at my house, changing the layout or painting a wall. I have honestly seen every design show on Netflix and watched all interior make-over video’s on Youtube I could find. So, why not share more here on the blog as well? It is all about what I love at last, and I hope you will love it too.
To begin with, I want to share a mini bathroom make-over on budget, which I recently did. Since I moved to my apartment in Amsterdam in December 2015 (gosh time is going fast..), I haven’t changed the bathroom. Even though I hated how it looked, it was still dull, with an ugly glass shelf and a lack of personality. I first wanted to change the whole bathroom with new tiles and everything, but when I found out what the price tag for this was, I thought it was a better idea to update it a little bit myself. So here we go!
To start with, I wanted fresh towels. I used to have everything in white, but since the tiles of the bathroom are already while I thought a pop of color might give it a fun touch. I got new fresh towels in bright pink from Handdoeken Discounter. It is the perfect place for cheap handdoeken & badjassen (towels & bathrobes in Dutch). So, I saved a lot of money on there, on to the next!
So, what next?
Instead of a new sink with cabinet below it, I just bought one little cabinet from Ikea to sit next to my toilet. I updated it with cute handles to give it a personal touch. I also bought a trolley to store more of my beauty-stuff. This one is perfect for keeping my new wood shelf, which replaced the ugly glass one, clean and organized with only my must-haves. At last, it was time to decorate it and make my bathroom make-over on budget feel more like me. I added some dried flowers, a hanging plant, a portrait of myself, and a beautiful round rattan bath mat for a natural touch.
And, what do you think about the result? I finally feel like my bathroom belongs to me and fits the rest of the house. Make sure to check this post as well, where I talk about storage solutions for a small home like mine. More interior coming soon! 🙂 xx
