Hi lovers, and happy new year! Not sure if you’re still allowed to say it, but what so ever.. As you may have noticed, I haven’t been online for quite some time. Many reasons for that, but let’s sum them up in one sentence; I am trying to find out what I truly like, and 2020 will be the year for it. At least I hope.
With that being said, I will take you with me to my first post of 2020. It is one that makes me very happy: my powder room renovation! As I told you in my last post, I want to share more interior posts with you, as interior is my biggest love together with fashion. And if you ask me, these come hand in hand.
I have been doing much inspiration on Pinterest (feel free to follow me there too :-)) according to decorating and styling my house, and I feel like that, after four years of living here, I am finally nailing it. I had to find a balance, let go of things and try out ideas. So that is what I did, starting with my powder room. As you can see in the old photos, it was a simple room that didn’t have much fun to offer. Okay, besides the empty frame stickers that have been on my wall since I moved to my house. Time to shake things up and play with color and prints!
Let’s get started!
As half of the tiniest space in my house exists of white tiles, it was an easy decision to go bold on the walls with a crazy wallpaper. I have been looking for the perfect wallpaper for literally months before I finally found this jellyfish wallpaper and fell in love. The bright colors, the crazy print; it was perfect. One thing that freaked me out: I had never wallpapered before, and as it was quite an expensive roll, I was so scared to mess up. But in the end, it was worth the time and stress cause gosh, how fabulous it looks!
My tips for wallpapering would be to watch some tutorials on how to do it to make sure you know what you’re doing. Also, make sure you have the time to do it precisely, cause no-one likes a rushed job. Last but not least, if you can find a helping hand, take it! I was missing mine when the paper wouldn’t stop rolling up on the glued wall while trying to get it in place.
Hope you like this mini powder room renovation and that it made you enthousiast to see more of what I will be doing in my house. I promise a big renovation is coming up soon! For now, I will enjoy my toilet visits a lot more, and I hope this inspired you to go bolder in your powder room as well and make the time you spend there worth it! See you soon! X
