Let’s shake it up a bit and share something different than usual. This recently caught my eye and I found it so super cool that I had to share it with you here on the blog. It is about The Prada Cup – the Challenger Selection Series of the 36th America’s Cup, which is world’s biggest sport event since 1851. It will take place in Auckland in January-February 2021. Have you heard of it before? I didn’t, so I hope I can tell you a little bit about it today.
The concept of a Challenger Selection Series originated in 1970. For the first time in the history of the America’s Cup there was more than one international Challenger vying to race against the Defender for the coveted trophy. Organised by the Challenger of Record, the Prada Cup is the final step on the road to the America’s Cup. To win the America’s Cup, one must first win the Prada Cup. And now we come to the topic I want to talk about. You may know the sailers brand North Sails that has been around in the sports scene since 1957. North Sails recently announced that they are the official clothing partner of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada – The Prada cup. For this, North Sails has made a special collection representing the brand itself and of course the big competition.
After reaching around for the even I got really inspired by it. Besides that I always have been a big fan of a nautical and sports theme, I think the story behind it is even cooler. I specifically enjoy this read-black-white theme that has been carried throughout the whole collection. For me personally it really screams sporty Prada! See a selection of my favorites of the collection below, or make sure to check the North Sails for Prada Cup collection here!
