Besides the Andrew GN show, there was one more show in Paris were I was more than excited for. Last year I just missed it (the invite came too late so I was already home..) but this year it was time to make it up, including a front row seat (!). I am talking about the John Galliano show which we attended on Sunday. I can tell you, the show was more than I expected..
John Galliano always has been a legend to me. It was a huge shock that he left Dior and his own brand in 2011, as he was one of those legends in the fashion industry as well. It has been quiet for years around the men and the brand, util Januari 2015. John became the new creative director of Maison Martin Margiela and the brand Maison John Galliano got a new creative director as well, who is Bill Gaytten. Mister Gaytten already worked with Galliano for 23-years. For him it was the first time doing the collection without John and he was dying of excitement. Not only about what the fashion people will think, but especially Mister Galliano himself.
I can’t say anything else than a big thumbs up to Bill, because I absolutely fell in love with the collection. It’s feminine, festive, creative and the perfect combination between romantic with a little edgy touch. I could literally wear any item, but if I had to choose my favorite it would probably be the sequin slip-on dress with the white sweater underneath. But for me no white nor glitters, but a black meets burgundy x leopard look. Before Paris I just received this amazing McQueen by Alexander McQueen skirt, which I am literally obsessed with. Together with the red knee boots it was a perfect match for the show. Now the question; what do you think about the new collection? Let me know in the comments!
I was wearing:
Coat: Elizabeth and James
Skirt: McQueen by Alexander McQueen
Boots: Stuart Weitzman
Scarf: Arttique London
Hat: Zara – old, similar here
Earrings: Ibiza, looks like..
