There is nothing I love more than a staycation. It is the perfect way to reload those batteries, enjoy some quality time with yourself or with a beloved one, get inspired again and of course enjoy a breakfast buffet. My latest staycation was with my mom at Hotel Arena last weekend. This beautiful hotel is located at the edge of the city centre of Amsterdam, at the beginning of Oosterpark. It is situated in an impressive monumental building from 1888. Throughout the years, the building has been transformed from a Catholic orphanage to a four-star hotel.
You can still enjoy the monumental ornaments, such as the marble staircase and the restored Chapel. In combination with a fresh and sleek interior, it is the perfect mix between old and new. The hotel has the PARK café and restaurant, which I had the pleasure to have dinner as well. I visited it earlier with some friends at their Thursday Afternoon Drinks, which was great, but haven’t had a real dinner before. I have to say, for someone with a picky taste (I just love good food), it was perfect. We enjoyed every meal! Especially with the amazing ambiance of the hotel and restaurant, it was the perfect get-a-away with my mom. Catching up on life while enjoying some prosecco and the view over the park. What else does a human need?
If you are planning a trip to Amsterdam soon, or are looking for a staycation as well, I can highly recommend the hotel. Besides the perfect stay, the service is excellent and so friendly. Really like home away from home, but a little more luxurious. If you don’t have a trip in mind, but just look for a place to have drinks or a good dinner, then definitely visit their PARK Café-Restaurant. You might see me there too, cause it is my new go-to location to have a good time with people I love.
