Bad habits, we all have them. No matter if it is something small or something big; there are always things we can improve about ourselves. Just think about the reason why you make New Year Resolutions. Not without a reason right? We always feel like we need to improve ourselves and to be the best version we can possibly be. But to be totally honest; we have to give up on that fact and accept that we can’t be an ‘ubermensch’. I already wrote a full article about turning your bad habits into good ones, but today I want to change things. Because we all have bad habits and yes, even some of them are good for us! Here a list of bad habits that aren’t as bad as they sound at first. So if you feel like knowing more about why you keep doing several things, than continue reading!
BEING TOO LATE
I am this person who is always late. But really always. No matter if it is just 5 minutes, 15 minutes or half an hour; I keep on having struggles with coming somewhere in time. It doesn’t matter if I calculate more time for myself before I have to go to my appointment, I always end up doing the same thing as always; doing too much in too less time. BUT here is comes. It’s actually proven that people who are always late, are also the most positive ones. HALLELUJAH! Let me explain: we find different things to do if we have some spare time. So no matter if it is about making a list for our groceries later the day which makes us 5 minutes later, or rushing the vacuum cleaner through the house to be half an hour too late. We always find things to do and use all the time we have, which is something positive. Now you know that the next time you’re late, you can at least blame in on being a too positive person haha.
I’M ALWAYS RIGHT
They can be super annoying: people who always know better and always think they’re right, even if Google or Wikipedia proves wrong. But you have to admit, these people are really firm in everything they do or say, which can be actually really helpful in business. They’re dedicated to their words and won’t let them blow away easily. So even if you are this sometimes/often annoying person who always think he/she ‘s right, than remember that you can use this bad habit for good as well. Be smart and use it in business. A lawyer can use this property really good for example.
BEING A LITTLE PIGHEADED
When I was in London for my English course, I had to read the book ‘The Great Gatsby’ and see both the 1974 and 2013 movie. It was not only Leo I didn’t like (he just isn’t my favourite actor. Sorry Leo), it’s just the story that I absolutely hated. But I have to admit that there was one quote I keep on remembering that Daisy said about having a Daughter: ‘I’m glad it’s a girl. And I hope she’ll be a fool. That’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool’.
Now being a fool and being pigheaded is one of the same things. In my opinion we shouldn’t take things nor life too serious. Enjoy and do things YOU love. Say words YOU think, even when some people will start rolling their eyes. People that are a little stubbornly will achieve more in their lives cause they hold on on their believes and opinions, no matter what others say. So next time someone calls you a fool or pigheaded, than remember that one of the most successful people in the world are this too. Nothing wrong with being a beautiful little fool yourself!
Another bad habit that actually helped a lot of successful men and woman, is being selfish. With this I don’t say that your world should be about me, myself and I, but putting yourself in the first place will really help you to achieve your goals in life. In this world there is nothing more important than taking care of yourself, because once you do this you can start taking care of others. Think about Michael Jackson’s song Man in the Mirror. We have to look ourself in the eyes and start working. And when we start doing this, we only have to think about ourselves. So yes, being selfish is the way to success. One side note; it doesn’t give you permission to start acting like a drag-queen tho ;-).
