Hi my lovers, how are you doing? Wow, it has been ages since I last wrote here and I feel ashamed.. Since 2011 I have been passionately writing here on the blog, but the last few months I just didn’t know what to write about, or I did but I couldn’t find the words for it. Anyway, I have a topic I want to share with you since the beginning of this year, and today is finally the day. It is all about my updated skincare routine which exists of all natural skincare and organic cosmetics.
If you follow me for a longer time, you may know that I have been struggling with my skin for the last few years. From a baby skin in my teens, to acne in my adult life. I tried everything; peelings, doctor, expensive to non-expensive brands; it never helped. It is my biggest insecurity and I know how hard it is to deal with a bad skin. That is why I always want to share my honest tips on skincare and what helps me. Some products I have shared before here on the blog helped for a couple of months, but then it always went back to bad. Now it seems like I finally got a routine that my skin likes.
Weirdly enough, I always felt like I wanted to use oils. Something no-one will advice you when you suffer from acne. Big mistake. My acne was caused by such a dry skin, that it made extra sebum to protect itself. Despite my feeling, I listened to the professionals, but nothing helped. Early this year, someone finally gave me the advice I was craving to hear: use organic oils. I was invited by Nature Skins for a treatment and that is where it all started. Like it was a sign from the universe, I got an email from Amazingy – which is a platform for organic cosmetics – to try out natural skincare. And that is where it went up-hill.
To start with; what is organic cosmetics? Organic cosmetics is generally defined as skincare or make-up products which contain organically grown ingredients that are free from pesticides. Organic products are seen to be more beneficial for the skin because there are little to no harsh chemical ingredients in it. With this in mind, you can imagine that your skin will like natural stuff over chemical products. Another reason why you should go for these natural products, is that it is often more environmental friendly than other brands and has no animal testing.
Enough about the what’s and why’s, time to tell you what I have been using the past few months and what my skin changed drastically. Scroll down to read on!
Cleaning your skin is the most important thing of your beauty routine. Even if you don’t wear any make-up, you really should never skip this step! I clean my face in the morning with just water and in the evening with the Absolution Le Nettoyant Pureté and the Konjac sponge which is perfect for a sensitive skin. I tried many tools to deeply clean my skin, but this is by far my favorite. It is very soft and gentle, but cleans like no other product did before. Highly recommend!
To get my skin ready for all the oils, I prep it with the Absolution La Brume Systémique. Give it a little shaky and spray 4-5 pumps over your face. It is so nice that I sometimes do it during the day too. So be warned, it is super addictive ;-). Next up I use the Kahina Giving Beauty Restorative Serum. I have been looking for the perfect restorative serum (and mask, more below) for years and this one appears to be my new best friend. I know how bad it is, but I can’t stop pinching my face on the look for spots. When I do so and use this serum afterwards, the redness and puffiness is gone within hours and it reduces the chance of scars.
When I was younger, I never understood the need of eye creams. I really didn’t need any, but especially now when I am getting older, I see the need of a good eye cream more and more. I am still in search for the best one yet and the Absolution Le Soin Regard could be the one. It is super light weight which is, especially now in summer, very comfortable to apply. To be honest, I think I will search for a more full one for the winter, but over all this one is very comfortable and easy to apply (also during the day over your make-up).
My daytime routine has one important must: SPF. My skin got more sensitive over the years and of course the sun is getting more dangerous by day. That is why protecting your face with an SPF is so so important. I often get more acne from SPF, so I was always so afraid to wear it. I have been using the Nuori Mineral Defence Sunscreen since the beginning of this year and it is super. It’s quite oily, which I like, gives you a natural glow and protects your skin without causing acne. Double win :-). Before I apply it, I like to use a rose quartz roller to reduce the puffiness in my face and to prep my skin for the cream.
For the night, I am all about oils. The more oil, the better. When I go to bed it really looks like I have been rolling in a bath of olive oil. One negative effect; my hair gets more oily too so I need to wash it more often. But that’s okay cause my skin have never been this good since the problems started. At the moment I mix two oils, which you can use separate as well. But since I am not sure which one is my favorite, I just mix them. It is the Absolution L’Huile Addiction and FYI Cosmetics Squalane oil. I massage this in with a jade roller, which helps against wrinkles they say. Let’s hope it does, cause being a 25 years old is still freaking me out ;-).
Last but not least: me-time. I loveeee masks and scrubs and I wish I gave myself more time to do this. Everyday if possible. Starting with the Kimberly Sayer face scrub; not sure it is my favorite yet but it is definitely pleasant to use. After using it, your face feels super soft and you actually don’t need any masks or cream afterwards. The Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask is definitely a favorite tho. It gives my skin an instant glow and it feels like it restores all the redness, puffiness, tiredness etc. It is one I especially use on special occasions since it is quite pricy, but definitely love it and will buy it again when it’s empty.
So, that was it! Lots of information but I hope it might help you with your own skincare routine. Definitely check Amazingy for more brands, products and information. Their product info is really good and it helped me a lot to choose the right products. If you have any tips for me, please share them! Till soon, xx
Could you please write an article to introduce these rollers!
